Hi! I'm the Director of Digital Media for KGO Radio, and also the webmaster, editor, and sales manager for DiningAround.com. This website is owned by Gene Burns, and operated in partnership with KGO.

I 'm a veteran radio personality, with 30 years on the air in and around Northern California, New York, and Vermont. My resume also includes stints as a chef, wedding planner, hotel manager, handyman, B&B operator, guerrilla horticulturist, and radio programming consultant . . . and I've started and sold a few successful Internet businesses.

I got interested in Internet marketing and technology in the early 90's, and in recent years, I have built and managed several award-winning radio station websites. In a way I have the best of both worlds, staying in radio but doing Internet work that I love.

Best Margaritas are in Maine?

While in Lubec Maine, near Quoddy Head light, we had some seriously amazing Margaritas at a place called Cohills Inn. Organic lime juice, organic agave nectar, and top shelf tequila. We have excellent margaritas here in California, but this Irish pub in Maine trumps 'em all. Go figure! Here's a view looking toward the water from the Inn.

Breakfast at Brown Sugar Kitchen

This is a relatively new place on Mandela Parkway in Oakland, and I love it. KGO's GraceAnn Walden turned us onto the place a few months ago. This morning Lark and I stopped off for breakfast on the way to work, with beignets on our mind. Today Gene mentioned a south african sauvignon blanc which I cannot find on your website neither in any store. I thought Gene mentioned "kmglobalwines.com" but that does not exist. What is the exact spelling of that south african white and where is it available?? Please advise. Thanks a bunch.
