Join DiningAround.com today, and you'll have a chance to win a six hour Sonoma County wine tour, for four to six guests, from Lin Durling's Artisan Wine Tours. If you're already a member, you are automatically entered.
The day includes:
An Aroma Workshop at B.R. Cohn.
How often have you been at a winery tasting room nosing a glass of wine, and you think I know what that aroma is, but you just can't put a name to it, even though it's on the tip of your tongue. It can be floral, citrus, woodsy, buttery, oak, vanilla or any number of familiar scents depending on the grapes used. Learn to smell the peach and the vanilla in Chardonnay, the blackberry and leather in Cabernet Sauvignon, and the strawberry and mushroom in Pinot Noir in this informal Aroma Workshop that includes a wine tasting.
Mayo Family Wine's Reserve Room
Unquestionably considered one of the top food & wine pairings in the North Bay, Chef William (Billy) Oliver has put together an incredible program of diverse and changing menus paired with award winning wines. Mayo Family is a boutique producer from both Sonoma and Napa grapes. Made in the French style, this winery offers something for everybody. The Reserve Room in Kenwood, separate from the Glen Ellen winery, is a tasting room which looks very much like a quaint restaurant. Guests are served at least seven wines, each paired with individually prepared "amuse buche" to compliment or contrast the nuances of the wine's palate. This is truly one of the gems of the Sonoma Valley.
Wine Dining takes Wine and Food pairing into the realm of traditional fine dining with its white tablecloths, crystal glasses and professional service. But then it breaks all the rules by using food in playful, unexpected ways that create a delectable, fluid harmony with the wine. Guests will linger over a pre-fixe flight of four wines paired with four exquisite food items. St. Francis Winemaker Tom Mackey’s hand crafted Sonoma County wines, from Sauvignon Blanc to Heritage Zinfandels, were created to be the perfect partner for Chef David Bush’s range of culinary styles.
We'll pick up your group in San Francisco, Central Contra Costa, Marin County, Napa County, or of course, Sonoma, and enjoy a day of delicious food and wine pairings.
