Dining Around with Gene Burns - Saturdays, 10 a.m to 1 p.m. on KGO Radio, AM 810

We just got home from The Great American Food & Misic Fest. What a rip off. We paid $70 to get in and this is what we got:

1. We waited in line for hours to get in. They opened the gates at 12:30 (30 minutes late)
2. It took five minutes to bring each person in because they where putting wrist bands on
3. We waited in line another hour to get the wrist band turned on (because they were not taking cash)
4. There was no food. The bacon place was open and you could get wine and beer, but everything else either didn't have any food or their computers didn't work.
5. When we got our tickets on line is said we had assigned seats for the shows, but when we went to find the seat they were not assigned and it was every man for himself
6. We were suppose to get one free meal with entry price, but the one place that had food couldn't get the free dinner thing to work
7. The one person we would have liked to see was Bobby Flay, but we would have had to wait, without food for four hours so we went home

So, for $70 entry price and $15 parking we had a bacon and tomato sandwich which we paid extra for and went home.

I too spent my day in line. We waited over an hour go get into the gates, we waited for 30 minutes to get a wrist band that was a rip off, we waited for 30 minutes to get a sandwich, to find out when we reached the front of the line, that they had no food, and we needed to wait for an hour. We then waited for almost 2 hours to turn paperwork in for a refund, that most likely will not arrive. This was a joke, I feel sorry for the vendors, and anyone that promoted it in anyway, my group of 4 will always remember and not attend anything like this again. I am out $330.00, plus parking, and no one even ate a thing.......really sad...
